4th of July Template Design for EasyWorship

America’s Independence Day is right around the corner! To help you celebrate 4th of July in your church service, here is a template/theme design to get your creative juices flowing.

To start this design I’m using the American Flag & Fireworks Motion 2 by Playback Media.

Here are the step-by-step instructions to get this look:

  • Open a New Theme for Songs.
  • On the top menu, select “Media”. Under the “Video” option, find the motion. Click and drag it on to the empty Master slide.
  • Re-size the text box to fit the text and center it.
  • Add another text box by selecting the “Text” button at the top.
  • Clear the text away by Selecting All and pressing the space bar.
  • Add an outline to the text box, by selecting the text box and selecting “Inspector” in the top right corner. In the Inspector, go to “Border” under “Element” and customize your border to the following:
    • Color – White
    • Join – Square
    • Position – Outer
    • Size – 9
  • While still in Inspector, go to “Fill” under “Element” and adjust to the following:
    • Fill Style – Color Fill
    • Color – White
    • Opacity – 24
  • Center this new text box around your already centered text.
  • Now add an additional text box, by clicking on the “Text” button in the top left menu.
  • Clear the text away by Selecting All and pressing the space bar. And re-size it so it’s the same size as the text box with the white border.
  • While still selecting this new text box, open Inspector, by clicking on Inspector in the top right-hand corner.
  • In Inspector, go to “Border” under “Element” and adjust the settings as follows:
    • Color – Dark Teal – (Row 1, Column 5)
    • Join – Sqaure
    • Position – Outer
    • Size – 9
  • Move this text box so it’s northwest of the centered text boxes like shown in the first picture above. This may take a bit of time to get it just right, so be patient with yourself. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to get the positioning more accurate.
  • Now, create another text box by again selecting the “Text” button in the top left menu.
  • Clear the text away by Selecting All and pressing the space bar. And re-size it so it’s the same size as the text box with the white border.
  • While keeping your new text box selected, open Inspector. Go to “Border” under “Element” and adjust the settings as follows:
    • Color – Custom Color – Select “More Colors” in the drop-down menu. Enter in the numbers below
      • Hue – 0
      • Sat – 240
      • Lum – 197
      • Red – 255
      • Green – 164
      • Blue – 164
      • Select “Add to Custom Colors” and then “OK”.
    • Join – Square
    • Position – Outer
    • Size – 9
  • Now adjust the position of this text box southeast of the centered text box outline in white. Again, use your arrow keys on the keyboard to really fine-tune its placement. You can use the top image in this blog for reference of where each outlined text box should go.
  • The actual song text will show up the best if the blue and light red outline text are in the back behind the white outline box. So select each box and send to the back. You can do this by selecting the text box and then selecting “Arrange” in the top right menu and then select “Send to Back”. Do this to the blue and light red outlined text box until the white outlined text box isn’t being hidden anymore.
  • Next, let’s adjust the font. Select the text box with the actual font in it and open Inspector. First, let’s go to “Font” under “Text”.
  • For the type of font I’m using in this example, I’m using Shink, which you can download here. Everything else should remain the same.
  • Next, let’s adjust the outline of the text. Go to “Outline” under “Text”.
  • Change the size to 3. Great! Moving on….
  • Let’s adjust the shadow of the text. Go to “Shadow” under “Text.
  • Adjust the Offset to 7.
  • Close Inspector.
  • Name your Theme by going to the top left-hand corner and entering in your theme’s new name.
  • Save by hitting “OK” in the lower bottom right-hand corner.

Now you’re ready to use this theme for your upcoming worship service! Enjoy and have a save Independence Day!
