Background Files Location

Postby Firstlight » Wed Apr 22, 2009 8:42 am

We have our backgrounds located in a folder on our network server. The songs in the database were built using the share name of the folder (i.e. "//server1/mediafiles/videos"). We are moving that folder to a different server on the same network (i.e. "//storage1/mediafiles/videos"). Is there a way to do a global update to the database or do we have to manually repoint each song in the database?

Make a copy of your data folder first.
You can open the songs.db file with MS Access and Do a find and replace on the file path you want to change.
Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. Col. 4:6

That puts a smile in my heart! I'll try it right now. I was not looking forward to updating the several thousand songs manually...
